It's Free and It Saves Lives

I was watching television one day and saw a commerical for free wireless amber alerts. Immediately, it caught my attention.

WirelessAmberAlerts.org.

This website will send free text message amber alerts directly to your cellphones for up to 5 zipcodes you choose. So, whether you have the financial means to do more or not, you can still help make this world a safer, better place.

Every little thing makes a HUGE difference.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

(Please note: Amber alerts are warning notices that are sent out whenever a child has been abducted.)

Earn Money for Recycling!

I just discovered a wonderful new website that offers the socially conscious even more great benefits for their good deeds. Check it out and see that it really does pay to be good! MyBoneYard.com is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

In short, they make the process a simple 3 step process where you can recycle unused electronics safely and potentially earn some money! They even send you a pre-paid shipping label via email.

In addition, you are able to check the status of your recycled device and any bonuses you will receive from it online. You can also rest assured knowing that MyBoneYard.com disposes of any devices you send in for recycling and deletes any personal information you may have forgotten to erase on your own.

If you stil have any pending questions, check out their Answers section.

Happy recycling!

Recycle Small Electronics with Ease!

Do you have any small electronic devices that you need to get rid of? Nowadays, it is becoming more and more important to make sure that we recycle everything we can in order to perserve our precious environment.

I recently took a trip to the post office and was pleasantly surprised to find that they carried free plastic envelopes made specifically for mailing back your small electronics for recycling purposes. Send your old cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, digital cameras, inkjet cartridges and other small electronics in their PRE-PAID envelops conveniently.

Together we CAN make a difference.

Best wishes & blessings to all.

Your Goodwill Matters

As much as I can remember, I try to clean off my book shelves and closets to take things to my local Goodwill Donation Center. While oftentimes I find it difficult to let go of things that sit around my apartment, untouched and unused for months even years, I have to remind myself that for someone else, they might be extremely valuable and important to their lives; and, in a larger sense, to the betterment of the community and our world.

I took about 3 bags of books to the Goodwill Donation Center about two months ago. It was about 11pm at night and yet as I pulled up to the dropoff area, there was what appeared to be a father and son who just pulled up as well on bicycles. They smiled at me and began looking through what had been dropped off. It is because of moments like this, when I am able to, I try to continue to give away the things that I know in my heart I no longer need or know I will no longer use.

In addition to the help you will be giving others, I have read that when you metaphorically clear up space in your closet, on your bookshelves and in your space, you open up space for new things to come into your life. Metaphorically, it is also a reflection of you. The more that the items in your life and living space reflect who you are presently, the more freer, lighter, and happier you will feel!

Best wishes & blessings to all.
